Adult Education

There are many opportunities for adult education at Congregation Etz Chaim. In addition to our weekly Torah study on Saturday morning at 9:30; on Tuesdays at 3pm, the Matmadim group meets to study additional texts, including Pirke Avot and Psalms.

There is also a Book Club Chavurah. The book club meets at members' homes on a rotating basis about every 6 weeks. Please check our calendar for the specific dates or reach out to Rabbi Levy for the book and location of the month.

Lunch with the Rabbi is held on the 1st Wednesday of each month, at 12pm. Bring your lunch and join a group for a film and discussion of current events.

Congregation Etz Chaim is proud to host Read Hebrew America. If you can't decode Hebrew or are just a beginner reader, we hold classes twice a year to assist in your Hebrew reading skills. Rabbi Levy is also available to work with you individually. We also hold Adult Bar or Bat Mitzvahs. This has been especially rewarding for women who did not have the privilege of a Bat Mitzvah in their youth.

We've had classes on Jewish history, Yiddish and Shabbatons on Israel and Jews in America through our Isabel Buyer- Howard  & Harriet Katz Lecture Series.

If you are interested in hosting a class, contact the Rabbi or the Education VP.
