Book Club Chavurah
Do Not Read this!
Unless you are intelligent, interesting, and sociable.
If you meet the above requirements and would like to become even more interesting and sociable (the intelligence is beyond our control), read on.
The Etz Chaim Book Club Chavurah has been meeting for over 25 years, with equal parts literary enthusiasm, contemporary awareness, and the simple pleasure of friendly conversation. We meet on Thursday afternoons every six weeks, rotating among members' homes. Each gathering integrates discussion of the current book with shared personal anecdotes and casual refreshments. (Of course, there is food - we are Jewish!)
The books we read and discuss are diverse: sometimes serious, sometime controversial, sometimes just entertaining. (Host/Hostess selects the book). No officers, no dues, very few rules.
As "People of the Book," we always welcome new insights and ideas. Please consider spending some time with us. For more information, please contact bookclub@mtjc.org.
